Liquid Ring Vacuum Package

These simple, but highly reliable pumps have a variety of industrial applications. One typical industrial application is the vacuum forming of molded paper pulp products (egg cartons and other packaging). Other applications include pick and place applications, vacuum drying, vacuum distilling, vacuum conveying, pump priming, vacuum condensing etc.

The liquid ring pump compresses gas by rotating a vaned impeller within an eccentric to a cylindrical casing. Liquid (usually water) is fed into the pump and, by centrifugal acceleration, forms a moving cylindrical ring against the inside of the casing. This liquid ring creates a series of seals in the space between the impeller vanes, which form compression chambers. The eccentricity between the impeller's axis of rotation and the casing geometric axis results in a cyclic variation of the volume enclosed by the vanes and the ring.

Gas, often air, is drawn into the pump via an inlet port in the end of the casing. The gas is trapped in the compression chambers formed by the impeller vanes and the liquid ring. The reduction in volume caused by the impeller rotation compresses the gas, which reports to the discharge port in the end of the casing.

Rotary Vane High Vacuum Pumps

A rotary vane pump is a positive-displacement pump that consists of vanes mounted to a rotor that rotates inside of a cavity. In some cases these vanes can be variable length and/or tensioned to maintain contact with the walls as the pump rotates.

The simplest vane pump is a circular rotor rotating inside of a larger circular cavity. The centers of these two circles are offset, causing eccentricity. Vanes are allowed to slide into and out of the rotor and seal on all edges, creating vane chambers that do the pumping work. On the intake side of the pump, the vane chambers are increasing in volume. These increasing volume vane chambers are filled with fluid forced in by the inlet pressure. Inlet pressure is actually the pressure from the system being pump, often just the atmosphere. On the discharge side of the pump, the vane chambers are decreasing in volume, forcing fluid out of the pump. The action of the vane drives out the same volume of fluid with each rotation. Multistage rotary vane vacuum pumps can attain pressures as low as 10−3 mbar (0.1 Pa).

Common uses of vane pumps include applications for laboratory, packaging,  food processing equipment  etc. Furthermore, vane pumps can be used in low-pressure gas applications such as secondary air injection for auto exhaust emission control, and in vacuum applications including evacuating refrigerant lines in air conditioners, and laboratory freeze dryers, extensively in semiconductor low pressure chemical vapor deposition systems, and vacuum experiments in physics. In this application the pumped gas and the oil are mixed within the pump, but must be separated externally. Therefore the inlet and the outlet have a large chamber maybe with swirl where the oil drops fall out of the gas. The inlet has a venetian blind cooled by the room air (the pump is usually 40 K hotter) to condense cracked pumping oil and water, and let it drop back into the inlet. It eventually exits through the outlet.

Roots Vacuum Pump

The Roots type or Roots blower is a positive displacement air blower. Roots low pulse air blower compresses air by means of two impellers, which are turning in opposite directions. As each impeller passes the inlet port, air is trapped and carried around the case to the air discharge port. Timing gears at the non drive end control the relative position of the impeller to one and another by maintaining a small clearance. This allows impellers to rotate freely in the case without lubrication and thus delivering oil free air.

The highly engineered lobed impeller profile and discharge plenum reduces the pulsation and vibration. These featured enable the user to benefit having lower power consumption, lower pipe line pulsation, longer bearing life and low vibrations.

Applications for these Roots Blowers include applications for vacuum dehydrations for paper drying industry, vacuum conveying, equipment for central vacuum applications and dust collection process etc.

Dust Collectors

A dust collection system is an air quality improvement system used in industrial, commercial, and home production shops to improve breathable air quality and safety by removing particulate matter from the air and environment. Dust collection systems work on the basic formula of capture, convey and collect.

First the dust must be captured. This is done by employing devices such as capture hoods to catch the dust at the source of origin. Many times, the machine producing the dust will have an integral port to which a duct can be directly attached.

Second, the dust must be conveyed. This is done via a ducting system properly sized and manifolded to maintain a consistent minimum air velocity required to keep the dust in suspension for conveyance to the collection device.

Finally, the dust is collected. This is done via a variety of means, depending on the application and the dust being handled. It can be as simple as a basic pass-through filter, a cyclonic separator, or an impingement baffle. It can also be as complex as an electrostatic precipitator, a multistage baghouse, or a chemically treated wet scrubber or stripping tower.
Dust Collectors are suitable for application like powder packing, cement, pharmaceutical, surface grinding, sanding, mixing, weighing and etc.
